Short Description Of The Book:
For a long time, the need was being felt in all the universities that proper arrangements should be made for the publication of all the auspicious and persuasive documents that are accepted every year for the award of degrees. The best form of this arrangement could be that various universities themselves publish and disseminate such meritorious and thoughtful writings. It is a matter of satisfaction that many universities have started making effective arrangements for publishing their research theses.
Last few years, to achieve a similar objective, the Administrative Committee of Kashi Hindu University has also taken a concrete step by arranging multiple funds. 'History of Hindi Criticism' by Dr. Ramdarsh Mitra, 'Kavi-Samay-Mimamsa' by Dr. Vishnuswaroop, 'Vajbhasha and Grijabuli Sahitya' by Dr. Kanika Biswas and 'Nirgun Bara of Hindi Poetry' by Dr. Shyamsundar Shukla from the cube provided by the special grants of the University. These four Hindi books on 'Bhakti' were published. The presented book is the fifth flower of this plan.
In this book, the author has tried to clearly highlight the points of similarity and difference in the literature of Nadhas and saints based on devotion, yoga, mysticism and poetry. According to the author, the tradition that gives momentum and inspiration to bi-modal literature is basically Tantric. The Yoga-oriented tendency of the Tantras was strengthened by the Shaivites, especially through the Pashupat tradition, and blossomed in the literature of the Naths, and the devotion-oriented tendency of the Vaishnavas, especially through the Naradiya tradition, got expressed in the form of saint literature.
पुस्तक का संक्षिप्त विवरण:
बहुत दिनों से सभी विश्वविद्यालयों में इस आवश्यकता का अनुभव हो रहा था कि शोष और अनुशीलनपरक जितने प्रबन्ध उपाधिप्रदान के लिए प्रत्येक वर्ष स्वीकृत हो जाते हैं, उनके प्रकाशन की भी समुचित व्यवस्था की जाय। इत्त व्यवस्था का उत्तम रूप तो यही हो सकता है कि विभिन्न विश्वविद्यालय ऐसी उपादेय और विमर्शपूर्ण रचनाओं को स्वयं प्रकाशित एवं प्रसारित करें। संतोष का विषय है कि इबर कई विश्वविद्यालयों में अपने शोध-प्रबन्धों के प्रकाशन की यबासाध्य व्यवस्था होने लगी है।
विगत कुछ वर्ष पूर्व इसी प्रकार के उद्देश्य की सिद्धि के लिए काशी हिन्दू विश्वविद्यालय की प्रशासक समिति ने भी एकाधिक निधियों की ब्यवस्था करके इस बीर ठोस कदम उठाया है। विश्वविद्यालय के विशिष्ट अनुदानों द्वारा प्रदत्त घन से डा० रामदरश मित्र के 'हिन्दी जालोचना का इतिहास, दा० विष्णुस्वरूप के 'कवि-समय-मीमांसा', डा० कणिका विश्वास के 'वजभाषा और ग्रजबुली साहित्य' और डा० श्यामसुन्दर शुक्ल के 'हिन्दी काव्य की निर्गुण बारा में भक्ति' इन चार हिन्दी ग्रन्यों का प्रकाशन किया गया। प्रस्तुत ग्रन्थ इस योजना का पंचम पुष्प है।
इस प्रबन्ध में लेखक ने बड़े अन से नाधों और संतों के साहित्य में साम्य तथा वैषम्य के मूलाधार भक्ति, योग, रहस्यवाद एवं काव्य के विन्दुओं को सुस्पष्ट रीति से उन्मीलित करने की चेष्ट की है। लेखक के अनुसार उभय- विध साहित्यों को गति और प्रेरणा देनेवाली परम्परा मूलतः तांत्रिक है। तंत्रों की योगप्रधान प्रवृत्ति शैवों को विशेष रूप से पाशुपत परम्परा से पुष्ट होकर नाथों के साहित्य में प्रस्फुठित हुई और उसी की भक्तिप्रधान प्रवृत्ति वैष्णवों की विशेषतः नारदीया परम्परा से अन्वित होकर संत साहित्य के रूप में अभिव्यक्त हुई।
