Short Description Of The Book:
The explanation and review of 200 verses of Bhramargeet written by Acharya Ramchandra Shukla has been written keeping in mind the interest of the candidates and students appearing in the L.A.S. and postgraduate examinations, but this book is being presented with the hope and belief that the scholars of medieval literature and the intelligent readers will also be able to take full advantage of it.
At present, many books on the explanation and review of Sur's Bhramargeet Saar have come up in the market. But at many places I have seen that the commentators could not reach the depth of the desired emotion and meaning of the poet, they have only fulfilled their duty by making a makeshift explanation.
In fact, the work of interpretation or commentary is now considered so simple and common that those who do not have much knowledge or understanding of this subject have also become interpreters or commentators. The result is that the candidates appearing for the examination are deprived of good marks due to wrong and misleading interpretation and the desire with which they buy it is not fulfilled. In fact, scholars like Acharya Ramchandra Shukla, Lala Bhagwandin and Acharya Vishwanath Prasad Mishra, who understood the special use of Sur and his special expression, are no longer among us. The truth is that Lal ji and Acharya Mishra were the Mallinath of Hindi. Just as Mallinadh has saved the works of Kalidas through his interpretation, similarly these Acharyas have paved the way for the reading and teaching of ancient poems by giving simple interpretation and meaning of the complex parts of Hindi.
Now there are no people who look upon such works with respect and the work of commentary or interpretation, which is a laborious work in itself, is considered negligible. Due to this hesitation, I refused to complete this work to its publisher Shri Krishna Purwar ji, but nothing happened in front of his natural politeness and simplicity and finally he got this work done from me. This book containing meanings, lucid explanation and comments will be acceptable to the intelligent readers and the attached review will increase its usefulness, I am fully confident of this.
पुस्तक का संक्षिप्त विवरण:
आचार्य रामचन्द्र शुक्ल कृत भ्रमरगीत के 200 पदों की व्याख्या और समीक्ष् प्रतियोगिता (LA.S.) एवं स्नातकोत्तर परीक्षा में सम्मिलित होने वाले प्रत्याशियों एवं छात्रों के हित को दृष्टि में रखकर लिखी गयी है, लेकिन इससे मध्यकालीन साहित्य के अध्येता तथा सुधं पाठक भी पूर्ण लाभ उठा सकेंगे, इस आशाऔर विश्वास के साथ यह पुस्तक प्रस्तुत की ज रही है।
सम्प्रति बाजार में सूर के भ्रमरगीत सार की व्याख्या और समीक्षा विषयक कई पुस्तके देखने में आयी हैं। किन्तु कई स्थलों पर मैने देखा कि टीकाकार कवि की अभीष्ट भाव-व्यंजन और अर्थ की गहराई तक नहीं पहुँच सके, मात्र कामचलाऊ व्याख्या द्वारा अपने कर्त्तव्य क निर्वाह किया है।
वस्तुतः व्याख्या या टीका का कार्य अब इतना सरल और सामान्य समझ लिया गया। कि जिनका इस विषय में बहुत अधिक अभिनिवेश या पैठ नहीं है, वे भी व्याख्याकार य टीकाकार बन बैठे। परिणाम यह हुआ कि परीक्षा में बैठने वाले प्रत्याशीगण गलत औ भ्रमात्मक व्याख्या के कारण अच्छे अंकों की प्राप्ति से वंचित हो जाते हैं और जिस ललक वे साथ इसे खरीदते हैं, उनकी वह ललक पूरी नहीं हो पाती। वास्तव में सूर के विशिष्ट प्रयोग और उनकी विशिष्ट व्यंजना को समझने वाले आचार्य रामचन्द्र शुक्ल, लाला भगवानदीन औ आचार्य विश्वनाथ प्रसाद मिश्र जैसे मनीषी हमारे मध्य अव नहीं रहे। सत्य तो यह है कि लाल जी और आचार्य मिश्र हिंदी के मल्लिनाथ थे। जैसे कालिदास की कृतियों का उद्धार मल्लिनाध ने अपनी व्याख्या द्वारा किया है, वैसे ही हिन्दी के गूढ़ अंशों की सरल व्याख्या और शब्दार्थ वे द्वारा इन आचार्यों ने प्राचीन काव्यों के पठन-पाठन का मार्ग प्रशस्त किया है।
अब ऐसे कार्यों को सम्मान की दृष्टि से देखने वाले लोग नहीं रहे और टीका या व्याख्य का कार्य जो अपने आप में एक श्रमसाध्य कार्य है, नगण्य मान लिया गया। इसी संकोच वे कारण इसके प्रकाशक श्रीकृष्ण पुरवार जी को मैंने इसे पूरा करने के लिए इनकार कर दिया थ लेकिन उनके सहज सौजन्यपूर्ण व्यवहार और सरलता के आगे मेरी कुछ भी नहीं चली औ अन्ततः उन्होंने यह कार्य मुझसे करवा ही लिया। शब्दार्थ, सुबोध व्याख्या और टिप्पणी संवलित यह पुस्तक सुधी पाठकों को सुग्राह्य होगी तथा संलग्न समीक्षा से इसकी उपादेयता बढ़ेगी, ऐस पूर्ण विश्वास है।
