Astrology has three wings – Samhita, Tantra and Hora. Among these, Hora Skandha is an infinite ocean. There are many texts related to Batak-Tabik-Muhurta-Question-Almanac-Nirman-Nashtjatak. Among these, the main one is the horoscope of the person. "The statement that astrology is an ocean of predictions is not an exaggeration. Keeping this purpose in mind, Varahamihir and other Acharyas have written their respective books to make predictions easier. Crossing the ocean with a handgun is not only easy, it is extremely difficult. And to attain perfection, ships are required. Hence, ships are built. Similarly, to cross the ocean of Faladesh, the Acharyas have written the scriptures called Faladesh in the form of floats. Among these others, Brihajataka is prominent. This book is brief and difficult to understand. And it is also complete in all subjects as Varaha ji himself has said - Horatantra Maharnav Pratarane Bhagnodyamanaham Svalpam Vrittavichitramarthabahulam Shastraplavam Prarame. Verse 2.
To clarify this sentiment, Narayan Bhattaji has written the third verse in the form of Miracle Chintamani - "Chaturlakshjyotirm Hambodhimuchai: Pramathyayav-". Narayanbhatta was Triskandhveta-Jyotibindu. Therefore, he made a deep self-study of four lakh Phalitjyotish texts, did a deep analysis, after that he completely dissolved these texts and collected priceless Phalit-form runes. The results of each posited planet in each world have been described in beautiful words through Bhujang-Prayat Chhand. Describing the results of one emotion in one world is a very difficult task, like closing the ocean in Aquarius. Nevertheless, Narayan Bhatta, with his brilliant intellect, his immense erudition and his poetry writing skills, has personified this extremely difficult task. Therefore, the book Chamatkarchintamani is universally accepted for predicting the results of the planets placed in the Jataka case of astrology. This is very useful in predicting predictions. Those who give predictions through this anth can be victorious everywhere. The proof of this is the last verse of Miracle Chintamani.
पुस्तक का संक्षिप्त विवरण:
ज्योतिषशास्त्र के तीन स्कन्ध है-संहिता, तंत्र और होरा। इनमें होरा स्कन्ध अनन्तपार सागर है। इसमें बातक-ताबिक-मुहूर्त-प्रश्न-पंचांगनिर्माण- नष्टजातक सम्बन्धी अनेक ग्रन्थ हैं। इनमें से भी मुख्यता जातक फलादेश की है। "ज्योतिःशास्त्र फलादेश का सागर है ऐसा कथन कोई अतिशयोक्ति नहीं है। फलादेश सुगम हो जाए, इस प्रयोजन को ध्यान में रखते हुए वराहमिहिर आदि आचार्यों ने अपने-अपने ग्रन्थ लिखे हैं। बाहुचल से समुद्र को पार कर लेना सहज तो क्या, अत्यन्त कठिन है और पारङ्गत होने के लिए जहाजों की आवश्यकता होती है। अतएव जहाजों का निर्माण होता है। इसी प्रकार फलादेश सागर को पार करने के लिए आचार्यों ने प्लवरूपी फलादेश ग्रन्थ लिखे हैं। इन अन्यों में बृहजातक की मुख्यता है। यह ग्रन्थ संक्षिप्त है, दुरूह है और सर्वविषयपूर्ण भी है जैसा वराह जी ने स्वयं कहा है-होरातन्त्रमहार्णवप्रतरणे भग्नोद्यमानामहं स्वल्पं वृत्तविचित्रमर्थबहुलं शास्त्रप्लवं प्रारमे ।। श्लो० २ ॥
नारायणभट्टजी ने इसी भाव को स्पष्ट करने के लिए चमत्कार चिन्तामणि का उपोद्घातरूप तीसरा श्लोक लिखा है- "चतुर्लक्षज्योतिर्म हाम्बोधिमुचैः प्रमथ्यैव-"। नारायणभट्ट त्रिस्कन्धवेत्ता-ज्योतिबिंदू थे। अतएव उन्होंने चार लाख फलितज्योतिष के ग्रन्थों का मार्मिक स्वाध्याय किया, मार्मिक परिशीलन किया, तदनन्तर इन ग्रन्थों का पूर्णतया विलोडन भी किया और अमूल्य फलरूपी रनों का संग्रह किया। एक-एक लोक में एक-एक भावस्थ ग्रहों का फल भुजंग- प्रयात छन्द द्वारा मनोहर शब्दों में वर्णित किया है। एक ही लोक में एक भाव का फल वर्णित करना महान् कठिन कार्य है जैसे कुम्भ में समुद्र को बन्द करना है। तो भी नारायणभट्ट ने अपने बुद्धि-वैभव से अपने प्रकाण्ड पाण्डित्य से, अपने काव्यरचना कौशल्य से इस अत्यन्त कठिन कार्य को मूर्तिमान कर दिखाया है। अतएव ज्योतिष के जातक प्रकरण में भावस्थित ग्रहों का फल कहने के लिए चमत्कारचिन्तामणि ग्रन्थ की सर्वत्र मान्यता है। फलादेश करने में यह अन्य बहुत ही उपयोगी है। इस अन्थ द्वारा फलादेश करनेवाले दैवश सर्वत्र विजयी हो सकते हैं। इसमें प्रमाणरूप चमत्कार चिन्तामणि का अन्तिम श्लोक है ।
